Help the Marcos Ohana Rebuild Their Beloved Home

Donation protected
You probably have seen the videos on social media of my family's home on fire in Waipahu.

On Thursday, 2/26, in the late afternoon, my Grandma, Aunty, other family members, and tenants needed to evacuate and are displaced indefinitely as the firefighters investigate and the insurance process goes through.

My family immigrated from the Philippines. My dad was the youngest of 4 and the only child born in Hawaii. This home, now the left side and back side of the home in ash, was first purchased by my late Uncle Efren. And if you knew the Marcos Ohana, from Palolo Valley or from 94 block, you probably came to our home.

So many of my aunties, uncles, cousins, and people from the community lived under this roof. It is the home my dad passed away in. It is the home that I could go to visit from the continent and be taken back to my childhood memories.

Now this home is no longer livable for the time being for my Grandma Marcos, who is 94 and retired from being a caretaker for the nuns at Sacred Hearts Academy. Her garden and her love birds are gone. She was not able to gather her belongings and, due to the investigation, not able to get her things.

Please consider making a donation. Funds will be going to my cousin Efren Jr. Marcos who owns the home. We will be using funds for immediate shelter, food, and clothes.

All other funding will be used to help rebuild our home.
