Help the Ludemanns Bring Home Baby
Everyone knows that being a parent is expensive. Diapers, clothing, food, schooling. The common costs that go hand in hand with the blessing of parenthood can quickly add up.
But sometimes there are uncommon costs. Home visits, womb prep, travel expenses, medical care that goes beyond the standard OB/GYN visits. Instead of the 18+ years most parents have to spread out the expenses of child rearing, some mommies and daddies must spend a great deal of money in the span of mere weeks just for the chance to see those two blue lines that announce their family is growing.
Some of you may know, but others may not, that fertility has not been an easy road for my sister and her husband. There have been struggles and diagnoses and losses. There have been life altering surgeries and medical decisions. In addition to the heartbreak of ectopic pregnancies and the terror of ovarian cancer, there has been the everyday concerns of job loss and moving towns and raising their beautiful daughter Davie.
Through it all, there has also been the deep rooted desire of another child. Kelsey and Kurt have always felt their family was not yet complete, that someone was missing from the table.
Now my family is reaching out to ask that you become a part of Kelsey and Kurt’s journey to meeting their ‘someone’. If it takes a village to raise a child, then it’s fair to assume that sometimes it takes a village to bring a child home.
My sister and her husband have started the process of assisted reproduction and eagerly awaiting the next steps that will bring them closer to saying “hello” to their newest blessing. But their journey has some obstacles to overcome.
The fact is that medically assisted reproduction is expensive and there’s a lot of up front costs that must be paid before anything further can happen for the Ludemanns.
Kelsey has done the math, and we have set a goal of $10,000. It’s a big, scary number to see laid out, but we are fully believing that God has brought them to this very place in their life and that our goal is attainable.
We are asking you to pray and consider donating; to the GoFundMe and the monetary costs of AR, yes, but more importantly to the ultimate goal of The Ludemanns finally meeting their newest family member.
We know 2020 was a heck of a year. Money isn’t coming easy for anyone so if a financial donation is not possible for you now, that’s okay! We are also gladly accepting prayers and good vibes! It’s not just money that will bring Kelsey and Kurt closer to their goal, but also the prayers and support of their village.
Join the village. Help bring home Ludebaby #2 and be a part of their story. Thank you so much for being here.
