In every community, there are people who just need a chance.
A safe place to go.
Someone who listens.
An activity that builds confidence.
A trip that opens their eyes to something bigger than their current circumstances.
In Ballymun, that place is The Lighthouse Project.
We are a small, not-for-profit community organisation built on one simple belief: when people feel supported, connected and valued, they thrive.
Every week, we create opportunities for people to come together through activities, workshops, trips, mentoring and community events. These moments might seem small — a shared meal, a group outing, a conversation — but they build something powerful: confidence, friendships, resilience and hope.
We’ve seen shy teenagers grow into leaders.
We’ve seen families reconnect.
We’ve seen young people who felt overlooked discover their talents and self-worth.
But here’s the challenge — we receive no formal funding.
Everything we do is powered by volunteers and community generosity. Every euro raised goes directly back into running activities, covering transport, buying supplies, organising events and keeping our programmes accessible to everyone — especially those who can’t afford to pay.
Without support, these opportunities simply don’t happen.
Your donation helps us:
- Provide safe, positive spaces for young people
- Fund trips and experiences that broaden horizons
- Supply materials for workshops and activities
- Keep programmes affordable and inclusive
- Continue building brighter futures in Ballymun
The Lighthouse Project isn’t just about events — it’s about connection. It’s about giving people something to belong to. It’s about helping young people believe in themselves and their future.
If you believe that every young person deserves opportunity, encouragement and community — please consider supporting us.
Together, we can keep the light on in Ballymun.
