My husband and I are in a desperate mode at the moment and am hoping someone can help just a little!
So background story, we had a house fire back in January 2019 and we were finally able to move back home in November after a lot of delays from the work due to payment for the contractors. And we still haven't finished the work as we are still waiting on money to finish paying the contractors for work that has already been done. My husband developed PTSD from the fire, as he had to put his arm around the fire that was under the kitchen sink to get to the fire extinguisher to put it out but the original fire started in the basement. He worked in sales at the time of the incident and because of the PTSD it affected his job and he was let go at the end of June. He did go into inpatient therapy for a week and then outpatient, half day therapy for 3 weeks after that. He was doing much better and was in full mode looking for a new job/career as he wanted to move into Marketing. Fast forward to now, his unemployment ended at the end of December and he still has not found anything. He has had a few interviews but he either has too much experience or too little. He's looked for temp work, part time, full time and went to every placement agency he could find and he has had no luck whatsoever. He was driving for Uber and Lyft but got into a car accident a couple of weeks ago and he is luckily fine and so was the person in the other car. Our insurance won't cover his repairs because he was driving for a ride sharing company at the time and the Uber insurance won't cover it because, even though he was logged in and on his way to pick up a rider, there wasn't a rider in the car with him. His car is drive-able but obviously no one would want to get into a car that was damaged so that's out of the question. We are currently living off my one salary and that is not enough for us to live off of. Our mortgage company was nice enough to let us put a hold on our payments for 6 months but that is up next month and we still won't have the money to pay it. My parents have lent us so much money for our home to be rebuilt because of our terrible home insurance company and I don't want to ask them for anymore. After everything that we went through with our home, we are afraid that we might lose it so I hope someone out there has a job for him so we can pay our bills and be comfortable and no longer have to worry about what might happen. Plus I am having another reconstruction surgery next Friday from my breast cancer surgeries, which is not the greatest timing but I'm doing it then due to my work schedule.
We are to the point that I have been thinking about doing a GoFundMe page but my husband and I would feel very awkward to ask people for money to pay our bills but desperate times call for desperate measures. Anything that can be contributed will be going to our mortgage, or monthly bills or even to pay for my son's daycare. Please know that this was very difficult for me to write as we are very private people and don't like our business out there for everyone to see.
