It’s not easy to keep clean when you’re living rough, especially during a pandemic. Please help us keep the Lamport encampment supplied with toiletries, hygiene products, and nutritional needs so its residents can stay as clean and healthy as possible.
Lamport Stadium has opened its washrooms and showers for use by the encampment until about 3 pm 5 days a week. Lamport staff are asking for assistance with hygiene supplies like toothpaste, toothbrushes, shower gel, shampoo, and deodorant (among others) to give to residents who come to use the facilities. Due to COVID protocols facility use and meal support at the nearby St. Felix Respite is limited for those living in the tents. St. Felix staff is doing their best to provide to-go meals, water, and first aid on a first-come-first-served basis, but their already limited resources have been stretched thin by the increase in need. They have recommended setting up regular drop-offs of water, first-aid supplies, and nutritional single-serve items to the residents of the camp.
Our goal is to establish a regular supply chain for as long as the encampment needs our support. Your one-time or recurring donation will help us order bulk toiletries from hotel suppliers and purchase bulk water and snacks from Costco.
In addition to providing much-needed supplies, we are also working to set up portable toilets and handwashing stations for the residents to use when the Lamport facilities are unavailable. Beyond being a matter of public health and safety, it’s also an issue of dignity. Everyone, regardless of their housing status, deserves a safe, clean, and private place to do their business. We are hoping the City will step in to provide these things, but so far they haven’t been much help - we are trying though! Any ideas or advice are also welcome.
Our community has always pulled together to help out our neighbors, especially since the pandemic. Please consider donating to help make a not-so-great situation a little more bearable for everyone!

Donations to this campaign will be allocated to providing:
- Individual-sized hygiene products for distribution by the Lamport Stadium staff
- Regularly providing water bottles, nutritious snack items, menstrual products, and first-aid items directly to the residents of the encampments
- Securing portable washrooms and handwashing stations for use by the encampments (if the City doesn't step in to provide them)
Any remaining funds once the camps are gone will be donated to one or more local charities that work with the homeless in our area.
