Help the La30 studio recover from a robbery

Donation protected
La30 is a music studio and community space that has been active for the past few years. As of a year ago, the space was taken over by a group of 10 dedicated musicians and artists who have been operating it without a profit incentive.

Our mission has been to help emerging collectives by providing an affordable space to host events in a city where venues are steadily disappearing and rental costs continue to rise. Beyond events, La30 serves a space where members of the greater scene can practice and record their sets, while also being home to a variety of community gatherings, from music production sessions to knitting clubs and Sunday afternoon barbecues.

On the night the 21st of April 2026, La30 was broken into and robbed, resulting in the theft of most of our DJ equipment. The estimated value of the stolen gear is between 8,000 - 10,000$ CAD and includes:
XONE-92 mixer - limited edition
3 x Pioneer XDJ 1000 MK2
MARQ700 hazer machine
Boss DD-200 delay pedal
Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 audio interface
Lenovo Thinkpad laptop
ATH M50x Headphones
Nintendo Wii game console

This equipment is essential to keeping the space operational and accessible to our community.

Since the incident, we have been actively trying to recover the stolen items by monitoring online marketplaces, contacting local pawn shops, and working with the police. We are also currently waiting to receive video footage from nearby sources. Unfortunately, no significant leads have emerged so far, which is why we are now turning to our community for support through this GoFundMe campaign.

Funds raised will go toward replacing the most essential equipment and improving the studio’s security measures, including installing an alarm system and securing the DJ gear with Kensington locks.
We want to sincerely thank everyone who has already reached out to support us during this difficult time. The response from our community has meant so much to us. With your continued support, we hope to rebuild La30 and make the space stronger, safer, and more sustainable than ever before.

Yours truly,

- The La30 team
