Help the Kirklands Through Health Crisis

Our Friends the Kirklands have had a very rough few years. They've been spread all over TN, FL, and MO for school, work, and health needs. On top it all, Tara has been having some major health issues that is affecting simple movements in her everyday life and on her job. She is finally in surgery as I write this to help correct these issues. Below are the specific details I received from Ilonna a few weeks ago. Please keep them all in your prayers and help them out however you are willing and able to. God bless y'all!

Mom has a rare condition called thoracic outlet syndrome that happens because our our connective tissue disorder (EDS). Basically a freak accident is happening in her body that shouldn’t that cuts off blood flow in her carotid artery to her head and it’s extremely positional. If she turns her head to the side or looks down it pinches it off. It’s gotten progressively worse and injections and muscle relaxers can no longer deal with the root problem of the thoracic outlet syndrome. She has to have a series of three surgeries or so and there’s only 3 surgeons in the country who can do it, and only one of them is covered by our insurance. We have been in a period of waiting and working to save for the surgeries bc they are insanely expensive and dads been working crazy overtime but mom keeps passing out and hitting her head while on the job.

My dad had just gotten back from Florida yesterday and now he’s having to take MORE sick time and lose money and drive back to Florida bc moms in the hospital again. If yall can pray for my moms health (blood flow being cut off to the brain is never good and we worry about brain damage), my dads mental health (stress of not being able to pay bills and the house bc he’s always having to drive back there for her bc she’s passing out multiple times in a row and sometimes unable to be alone in apartment or God forbid pass out while driving), me and Ashlynne’s faith and fears, and our family’s financial situation. We can barely pay for what we have and now the thing that may POSSIBLY fix this for my mom and is rare procedure in this country is way beyond our financial reach. The issue is that everytime my dad is able to get more hours in to pay for the solution to this issue the issue pops back up and doesn’t allow him to keep working to fix it. It’s scary and frustrating.

My moms getting worse, and I fear long term damage for her. I just really need prayer and so does my family. It seems like everytime we take a few steps forward we fall 20 steps back

Please keep Tara in your prayers and any prayer chains that you have. She is going to be going into surgery on the 25th. It is a major surgery around nerves and circulation to many parts of the body. The scariest to me is the Phrenic Nerve. It controls the diaphragm, which controls her breathing. They have to remove her first rib and go through and work around these nerves and circulatory system to do this. She also is having muscles removed from her neck because they are cutting off the blood flow through the carotid arteries.

Long story Longer - please pray for God's guidance of the surgeons hands. They say this is one of the most painful surgeries to recover from, so prayers for quick healing and pain that is tolerable.
