Help the Kids go to One Heart!

For over 30 years, One Heart Camp has been the highlight for many youth around the nation. It's a one week camp in the San Bernadino Mountains where kids have fun, learn more about their faith, and make life-longing friendships. Although this camp is based in southern California, we've had hundreds of kids from all over the country, even across the GLOBE, come attend One Heart Camp! As such, we want to ensure that EVERY child is able to experience this workshop, without finances being an obstacle for anyone! 

This gofundme is dedicated towards those that wish to attend One Heart Camp, regardless of financial background. For a deeper understanding of what this workshop has been able to provide, here are some stories.

Jazmine’s Story
“I am a third-gen BC that has lived their entire life in Seoul Korea. I grew up with the Church, attending my local church every Sunday and even occasionally going to workshops for BC’s my age. But I’ve never had an experience with the Church where it changed my life. The church for me wasn’t a big deal, it was just there. When I was 14 years old, my parents told me that they wanted me to go to a church camp in the US. To be honest, I wasn’t thrilled. I didn’t know anybody there, I wasn’t familiar with the environment and most importantly at the time I didn’t have such a strong connection with the church. I still remember till this day, my first day at OHC changed my life forever. The people there are all so inviting and I connected with everyone I met instantaneously.

This allowed me to see the hidden benefits of the church, the most important one for me is that no matter what background you come from, age, gender, race etc… the church brings people together. Especially because I live in Korea and never had much of an experience like OHC before, my first summer there was so eye-opening for me. I was able to meet a range of amazing people and friends that I feel I have a life-long connection with and OHC did that for me. OHC provided me with an experience like no other which is why at the age of 17 I continue to look forward to the week of OHC as I have the chance to re-connect and meet even more incredible individuals in such a short amount of time. OHC truly plays such an important part in my life and has a special place in my heart.”

Yuto's Story
Yuto Ohki is a young adult originally from the Alaskan community, but is now the youth pastor of Seattle, Washington.
"It's honestly been a dream for me to bring an entire youth to one heart. Why? It's because of my very first year of one heart. When I recently graduated senior year of high school, it was the first year Alaska ever joined One Heart, and to me made the biggest impact and a gamechanger to my life in this church. I honestly would have left the movement. But because of one heart and the amazing people, I gave it another chance to live life as a 2nd gen and open doors for me to try out GPA."

Help create experiences like Jazmine's and Yuto's be possible this year! In addition to just regular workshop fees, the Peace Starts With Me event occurring in Las Vegas adds additional expenses as well. In fact, for group leaders of One Heart camp, they are planning to attend a leadership workshop, a 3-day youth revival in Las Vegas, then immediately start One Heart Camp afterwards!

How You Can Help!
Due to these circumstances, we sincerely ask for your support to alleviate the costs associated with attending One Heart Camp this year. Your donation will go completely towards participants and staff, who need help with:
➤Travel expenses (airfare, transportation from Las Vegas to OHC, etc.)
➤ Workshop Fees (OHC is $400, Las Vegas Youth Revival Event is $150, Leadership Workshop is $90)

Some group leaders who wish to staff Middle School OHC will have to spend over $500 this year!

Who will this money go towards?
Donations will primarily go to...
1) Out of state participants
2) Families where many kids are attending One Heart
3) Staff who are attending the LV event and One Heart Camp
4) Any child who is struggling financially! 

Help continue this tradition of One Heart Camp. We know that many of you reading this have experienced One Heart before, or have had children that enjoyed One Heart in the past. If you remember the joy you were able to experience then, help us share that joy for those who wish to come this year :)

Although the goal is $5000, we hope we can raise much more so as to truly allow everyone who wishes to attend this year be able to come!

*UPDATE*
To be transparent with all the donors, the money will be withdrawn from Yelena Morita, who is the bookkeeper for the Bay Area Family Church. She will be withdrawing these funds under her name, then sending it to HSA-UWC of the Bay Area Family church which will then be responsible for sponsoring/reimbursing all things One Heart Camp related.
