Update!!
Hello everyone,
We appreciate everyone’s love and generosity this past year. Eloise was discharged from the PICU of Children’s Hospital June 2023.

We just wanted to give you an update on Eloise and how she’s doing today.

First things first, she is the strongest baby and a complete miracle. Her heart was able to recover enough while on ECMO that she didn’t end up needing a heart transplant. Her heart isn’t 100% healed and she’ll be on some cardiac medications for awhile. But NO TRANSPLANT! We were told that Eloise was going to need a tracheostomy because she had failed tolerating removal of her breathing tube TWICE, and then shortly after the second try… she removed her own breathing tube and since then she was been breathing on her own!
In the beginning of her hospitalization, she did develop NEC (necrotizing enterocolitis), a life-threatening illness that killed some of her small intestine. Complications related to NEC is what kept us in the hospital so so long. Eloise being a warrior, fought hard and made it out, but not without some consequences. Today, Eloise is fed through a feeding tube in her stomach and cannot eat by mouth yet due to all the tubes she has had down her throat. And while we wait for her intestines to get used to being fed again, she has a central line in her chest where she is receiving TPN, or IV nutrition, so that she gets the calories she needs to grow. But Eloise is the HAPPIEST baby with the best personality even through all of her hardships. We are INCREDIBLY lucky to have her in our lives.

Eloise joy born on September 27th was brought to the emergency room on October 5th because she wasn’t eating, and long story short that next morning we found out that she had a virus that was attacking her heart and causing her to have heart failure. Since then she has been on an ECMO machine which works as her heart while her heart is trying to recover. While the Ecmo is great at helping give her heart a break, it also has many cons that have caused many road bumps and detours along the way. She has been in the hospital for 15 days now and will be much longer because they do not know if she needs to go on the transplant list or if her heart will recover on its own.

Nick and Loren are going through a very tough time right now and are just asking for help because of the medical bills and even house hold bills that will be adding up and the amount of time that will be missed at work so they can be at the hospital with Eloise. If you are able to help we thank you so much and even if you cant help financially please keep this family in your prayers.
