Growing up with the Kelley-Young family, I’ve seen them help (and this is not an exaggeration) hundreds of people. Bonnie, Rory, and Danny are always the first to call in a crisis, first to offer a spare bed in their home — always there with a thoughtful gift, meal, and piece of advice.

The Kelley-Youngs recently found out that they will lose their family home of six generations if they don’t come up with $200,000 by the end of the year. This home has been my home when I had nowhere else to go — it’s been home to countless cousins, students, family and friends the Kelley-Youngs have taken in over the years.

As a teenager and young adult, they offered me a place to live, physical, financial and emotional support, and most importantly friendship. Their house is never quiet; it’s always bursting with creative energy. They constantly have someone staying over; they invite the whole neighborhood to dinner; they never let you leave their house empty handed. They are the most generous people I know.
