Help the Kasar Family Start Over After The Palisades Fire
Donation protected
I'm writing this on behalf of my best friend, Victoria Kasar, who I've known since high school. I have been lucky enough to spend time with the Kasar family, and enjoyed many days in their home in the Palisades. I will never forget gathering around their table and enjoying Emel's wonderful Turkish cooking.
Jack and Emel Kasar moved into their home on Lachman Lane in the Pacific Palisades in 1986. They created a beautiful life there filled with cherished memories of their 3 children: Nicole, James, and Victoria. On January 7, the Palisades fire destroyed their home as well as many houses in the neighborhood. Jack, Emel, and James had been living in the house at the time of the fire. Emel left to babysit her grandson an hour before the fires started and couldn't recover anything besides what she left with for the day. Jack and James frantically packed important documents but couldn't get much as the fire started a 2 minute drive from their house. They lost their home of 38 years, including her dad's rose garden and lemon tree, her mom's sewing machine, and James's collected surf boards. As you can imagine, this is overwhelming and the Kasar family is starting from scratch.
I'm wondering if you would help me in giving a glimpse of hope to this family. Victoria would love your support in helping her parents and brother recover and start over. The Kasar Family is grateful for everyone's kindness and generosity during this difficult time.
