My name is Jake Dehne, I am a family friend of the Jude family. Seth and I are business partners with Robert Jude at Elbow Room Brookfield and Elbow Room Cedarburg.
We created this GoFundMe to help support the Jude family during an incredibly difficult time. They are not the type of people who ever ask for help, but right now, they truly need it.
This past Wednesday, Robert began feeling ill and initially believed he had a severe flu that had been going around. By Friday, his condition worsened rapidly, and he was rushed to the emergency room, where doctors worked tirelessly to save his life. He was admitted to the ICU, where it was discovered that he had Type 2 Diabetes and had gone into HHS (Hyperosmolar Hyperglycemic State), a life-threatening medical emergency.
On Monday, Robert was transferred to Froedtert Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. He is still a long way from recovery, as several of his major organs are not responding as they should. His medical team continues to work around the clock to stabilize him and restore normal organ function.
The medical expenses associated with this level of care will be overwhelming, and Robert is expected to remain hospitalized for weeks to come. Any financial support will go directly toward helping ease the burden on Audrey and their family during this uncertain and emotional time.
Seth and I will also be hosting fundraisers at both Elbow Room locations, with the option to donate directly through our Toast handheld systems. As an owner, Robert benefits from both your generous donations and your continued patronage. We are also happy to help coordinate getting support, meals, or necessities to Audrey and the family.
The Jude family is deeply rooted in their faith, and Audrey has asked that everyone continue to pray for Robert. Even if prayer isn’t part of your beliefs, positive thoughts, support, and encouragement in any form truly make a difference.
If you have ever met Robert, you know he is one of the kindest and most genuine people you could meet. He is always willing to help others, always smiling, and always happy to see you. His relationships are real, his family is everything to him, and now he needs our support more than ever.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and continued support.
With gratitude,
Jake and Seth Dehne
