Hi, this is Alli, a close friend of The Jones family.

Ethan & Barbara are a loving Christian family who dedicate a lot of their free time to helping others in need. They enjoy volunteering at church as well as in the community. They have one son who is in 2nd grade who has ADHD and sensory process issues. They also adopted a girl who recently turned 2 years old. As many of you know, Barbara has a genetic illness that has caused several health issues and has kept her from returning to work after her carotid artery dissection and TIA in December of 2016. She has struggled with deciding if going back to work would make sense. Their 2 year old would be put in full time daycare which would probably cost too much for it to be viable. Ethan needs to use his free time to help at home with the kids.

Unfortunately, they have had some large expenses come up recently and they aren’t sure what to do.

Last week, the week Ethan was hospitalized with COVID and pneumonia, they found out that they will need to be replacing one of their cars (‘12 Hyundai Tucson- cam shaft broken, engine needs replacing, estimated cost $10,000) but the other one needs replacing as well (‘95 Buick LeSabre- won’t pass inspection and broken air conditioner).

Their home is in need of a new air conditioner downstairs, estimated to cost around $9000.

They had planned to also replace their flooring, that is over 20 years old and badly damaged, but feel they can’t afford it as of now, the estimated cost to that was $9000.

Their home also has these issues: carpenter ants in yard, gutters need to be installed, fence repairs, garage door repaired, bathroom plumbing issues, some drywall repair, and a light fixture repair.

If you know if anyone they could reach out to about these repairs or expenses, please let us know. If you feel led to donate, we really appreciate it. They feel they can take on the cost of some of these issues, but not all of them at once. Their main priority right now is transportation. Both cars still run but we aren’t sure for how long, or if it’s even safe to drive the Tucson.
