I moved into my current place about two years ago around this time of year with my husband and children to start a new life in a house of our own. Many things have happened since then, some good and some bad, even though the house we live in holds a lot of fond memories. There are other memories we should get away from so we can start fresh again.

After waiting 12 years on a Section 8 waiting list, I was finally selected late last year. That was a troublesome road after submitting all my information and patiently waiting for the voucher to come in the mail. I kept calling them, knowing that my lease at my current residence would be ending soon.

So, about a month and a half ago, I got a call from what I found out is my PHA social worker asking me how the house hunting was going. I had to inform her that I never received my voucher. So, the next business day, I headed up there to grab the voucher in person and was told that I have a few months until my voucher expires, so the race was on.

With all that being said and still paying my current landlord for this last month, I might be a little bit short on my security deposit. A good portion is being taken care of, but I just need to make it over that finish line. Whatever you can donate is gladly appreciated and if not, can you please pass the link forward.
