Hi, my name is Diane, but that's not as important as to why I'm here. PLEASE! Pray for this family. Isla is 5 yrs old and to say she's a fighter is an understatement. her parents, Ashley Jelley and Justin are the real fighters. Isla was born with Down Syndrome, and has had many health issues which she has overcome like a champ. Sadly, this time Isla is in for the fight of her life.. Ashley is the fiercest fighter an d advocate for her daughter, while Justin hold the family together while keeping his school age daughter, Emma on track, cooking , cleaning, and working the pay the bills. They fight but you can see the sheer exhaustion in this family. I'm BEGGING for your heartfelt prayers, and if you can help them big or small it would wat least ease the burden temporarily. PLEASE consider a donation. Ashley's cash app and venmo are at the end of the update on beautiful Isla. THANK YOU and Happy Holidays!
This is Isla's latest update as of 11/21:
we are going into day 6 of Isla being in the ICU and we have already been told that we are going to be here a while.
It started out as parainfluenza 4, changed to bronchiolitis Saturday afternoon and her chest x ray on Sunday shows multifocal pneumonia, which means spread throughout her lungs. She's now on two antibiotics.
She had to have a picc line put in today (which was the scariest thing I've ever had to go through in my life and I cried the entire time I was waiting for the dr to come get me).
She's also having very low blood pressures which the drs are monitoring very closely.
She is now having dark red blood coming from her belly, out through her g tube and we have no idea why. The nurse just drew blood from her picc line to check her labs again and they're checking to see if she has a bleed somewhere.
Her labs are so wonky and she made need a blood transfusion today, which terrifies me
She's also getting lasix because she is retaining fluid in her lungs and in her body.
To say I feel absolutely defeated is an understatement. I am terrified. I've never cried so much in my life. I just want to see my sweet girl's beautiful face and snuggle her again.
Please continue to send your prayers her way
Everyone keeps asking if they can help us and the offers are appreciated more than you'll ever know.
anything will help; with coffee, food, gas since home is an hour and a half away, even bills at this point since Justin has missed a lot of work to be home with Emma.
