Help The Janniere Family With Their Fresh Start!

My name is Mildred Diaz and I am the Founder & Creative Director at Lucky Pearl Interiors , a not-for-profit organization that renovates the homes of deserving families in New York City.

We make it our mission to find and help exceptional families, who have demonstrated a determination to improve their circumstances and who are passionate about their personal growth and success. When we met the Janniere's, we were blown away by their tenacity and knew we had found the right family!

Kyle and Jessica Janniere need your help

THEIR STORY
Today, many hardworking parents experiencing difficult financial times find themselves in a wave of uncertainty. Oftentimes, even despite great attempts to break free from a paycheck to paycheck lifestyle, they struggle. Families in poverty often deal with the unseen issues they must navigate through to sustain their current status while striving to improve and elevate their lives; limited education, trauma from abuse/ neglect, a struggle/poverty mindset; just to name a few. In New York City, there is a major housing crisis that adds to the stress that poor, working- and middle-class families face.

Kyle and Jessica Janniere are raising their 3 children in the Brooklyn New York area. When they got married in 2002, they had high hopes for a better life despite their humble, traumatic and difficult upbringing. After the birth of their 2nd child, Jessica agreed to leave her corporate job as a company event planner and Recreation Director.

Most of her income was going to childcare and more importantly, Kyle and Jessica wanted to protect their children from abuse and neglect, providing a safe and structured family environment. This was a personal issue since Jessica was a child abuse survivor and was still healing from that abuse and trauma.

Through several rough periods in their lives, they persevered and focused on ensuring that their children felt loved, happy and were provided with the educational opportunities to which they did not have access. Although their personal accomplishments have filled them with pride, their very limited resources over the years has meant that they have chosen to delay the critical updates that the home they have owned for over a decade  requires.

For over 15 years this wonderful family of 5 has lived in a small one bedroom apartment in Brooklyn that is in desperate need of repair:

THE SOLUTION
That's where Lucky Pearl Interiors  comes in! At LPI, our focus on providing interior design services at no cost to the families that need it most means that we create designs that offer affordable solutions, and then we implement the plan with the help of our partners and the community. We are very excited and proud to be able to lend a hand to the Janniere family and would love your help.

LPI has put together a design plan that would allow the family to receive new floors, fresh paint, a new kitchen, an updated bathroom, and furnishings so that their children can continue to thrive and grow in their environment. Our renovation will allow the family to eat dinner together at a dining table for the very first time in over three years!

LPI can completely transform their home to better serve their needs but we need your support! Our organization has already dedicated significant funds to begin the work on this project and to update the family's home, and your generous donations can help us greatly in implementing the full plan that we have created. Take a look at the Janniere Design Plans and consider donating to our cause.

Kyle & Jessica Janniere dedicate their time to God, their church and also their community. The Jannieres have remained very actively involved in community empowerment and causes through the years, including starting and co-leading a Youth Night program for over 5 years, mentoring young people and working with people in crisis. But their main commitment has been to their children; their well-being, education and future.

Their daughter Kayla is enrolled in her dream college pursuing Culinary Arts in the hopes of one day opening her own restaurant and creating programs in low-income communities to make healthy food options more available. Their oldest son Kyle Jr. graduated high school early, at age 16, this past June (class of 2019) and is actively pursuing his dream of becoming an engineer. He was selected for a special scholarship  program this summer to prepare for college in the fall. Their youngest son Jared, 14, begins high school with interests in music, science, and swimming.

Everyone deserves an opportunity to live in a bright, functional and beautiful home. We are asking you to please open your hearts and aid the Janniere family with any amount of donation that you can provide at this time.
