Help the Irons Family Recover After Dave’s Medical Crisis
Donation protected
It’s so hard and almost excruciatingly vulnerable to write this, but we need several forms of help right now and I’m at a loss, we don’t know what else to do.
Three weeks ago, Dave was hospitalized after a gallstone became lodged in his bile duct. He was in extreme pain and distress for about 10 days while we worked with natural treatments to help the stone pass. Thankfully, the stone finally moved, but not without causing significant damage to his liver, leading to severe jaundice. This resulted in unbearable itching, sores from constant scratching, and the inability to regulate his temperature due to bile salts and bilirubin backing up in his bloodstream.
At the hospital, we asked about alternative procedures, as there are numerous medical options available that don’t involve removing the gallbladder. However, we were dismissed again. Surgery was presented as the only solution, with claims that no natural remedies or other medical interventions would work. This was frustrating, especially knowing from past experience that natural methods can and do work when done properly.
For those who don’t know, gallbladder removal isn’t without risks. While many live symptom-free afterward, about 40% experience complications, including serious ones:
Immediate Post-Surgery Complications:
* Bile leakage: Causes pain, infection, or inflammation.
* Injury to bile ducts: Leads to strictures or blockages.
* Internal bleeding: Requires emergency intervention.
* Infections: At the surgical site or internally.
Long-Term Symptoms:
* Chronic diarrhea and anal leakage from continuous bile flow.
* Bile reflux: Causes irritation, nausea, and heartburn.
* Difficulty digesting fats: Leads to bloating and discomfort.
* Vitamin deficiencies (A, D, E, K) due to malabsorption.
* Postcholecystectomy syndrome (PCS): Ongoing pain and indigestion.
* Pancreatitis and SIBO: Resulting from bile duct blockages or bacterial imbalances.
Given these risks, we decided to go home and pursue natural treatments. Over three weeks, Dave’s bilirubin levels began improving as we implemented a strict NO FAT, plant-based, whole-food diet with no sugar. In addition, we incorporated remedies like castor oil compresses (prayerfully applied), supplements like milk thistle and Chanca piedra, and fresh juices made from beets, carrots, and apples. We relied entirely on God’s guidance, praying for healing and wisdom in every step. At church, during prayer, I heard “apple cider vinegar foot bath,” which turned out to be a known holistic method for detoxing the liver and gallbladder.
After extensive preparation, Dave finally completed the liver flush. Hundreds of stones were expelled, and his dark yellow skin became a little lighter showing signs of improvement despite his eyes remaining very yellow. While we know recovery will take time, he is improving every day.
Our Journey with Health and Work
This is not the first time we’ve faced serious health challenges. A few years ago, Dave woke up unable to move his body due to sudden, severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA). He was crippled overnight, unable to put on his own shoes or shirt. Doctors prescribed strong medications, told him he’d be on them for life, and suggested his condition would only worsen. Around the same time, he had his first gallstone flare-up.
We were determined not to accept this as his future. Through simple dietary changes—cutting out processed foods and takeout—he completely reversed his RA symptoms and came off all medications. We were told this wasn’t possible, but it worked. Unfortunately, the strain of that health crisis caused our successful business to collapse, as Dave was the main laborer keeping everything running while I managed the marketing and operations.
Fast forward to now: This latest gallstone attack has left us in another challenging position. Dave is still recovering and cannot do physical labor while his liver heals. We tried taking on snow removal to cover expenses but quickly realized it was too much for him, causing his condition to regress. After 2 days of us working snow removal his bilirubin and jaundice all came back, and his urine returned to a dark brown.
We’ve been able to cover the bare minimum this month with the snow removal job, but as we approach next month, we’re struggling to make ends meet.
I’ve recently been diagnosed with a condition requiring me to shift to less physically demanding work as well. Something that took our entire family by surprise and will require yet another close look at sustaining these lifestyle changes.
Since Dave and I met, we've made it our mission to rid ourselves of all addictions and clean up our health. Over the years, we’ve successfully let go of many habits that once held us back. Food, coffee, and sugar were the last things on the list that had control over us, but we were determined. It wasn’t easy, but we knew we had to make these changes for the sake of our health and well-being. Today, we feel freer and more in control than ever before, and we’re so grateful for the strength and perseverance that helped us through this journey.
If we’ve learned anything at all, a sober life with clean water and food is what it takes to reverse disease and find ourselves again.
What We Need
Dave is urgently seeking a non-sales, stable job with consistent pay. Ideally, we’re praying for a fly-in, fly-out position in the oilfields or mines, something he can begin once his liver has healed—or sooner if it doesn’t compromise his recovery.
We’re also asking for help to bridge the gap while we stabilize our finances. We need to step off the rollercoaster of sales and bookings and create a more secure future for our family, especially as we navigate these ongoing health challenges that require extreme change and shifts in our working methods.
We never take asking for help lightly, but we find ourselves needing support right now more than ever. If you know of any job opportunities or resources, please reach out. If you’d like to learn more about my health or our situation, feel free to message me privately—I’m just not ready to share everything publicly yet.
Thank you for your prayers, kindness, and understanding as we navigate this difficult time. We are relying fully on God to provide a way forward, and we deeply appreciate any help or guidance you can offer.
No matter which path we chose—surgery or natural healing—the reality was that both options would have thrown us off track. Either way, recovery time would have meant our family's main provider being knocked out of commission for an extended period. It’s been an incredibly challenging time, and we’ve come to realize that our traditional methods of providing for our family are becoming less and less possible as they predominately revolve around physical labor. We're determined to get back on our feet, but it’s hard to ignore the growing strain as we face these obstacles. Through it all, we remain hopeful and committed to finding a way forward for both our health and our future.
If you’re interested in learning how to naturally heal from conditions like gallbladder issues, liver problems, rheumatoid arthritis, hypoglycemia, breast implant illness, parasites, or even cancer, please feel free to reach out to us. We’ve learned a great deal through our own healing journey and would be more than happy to share what we know. Everyone’s path to healing is unique, and we believe in the power of natural remedies to support the body’s ability to heal itself. Don’t hesitate to message us. We have these experiences for a reason, and are willing to share with anyone who needs it. God has guided us every step of the way, through prayer and research and we’ve consistently found that there is healing using traditional methods rarely spoken of in the medical fields, we believe more light needs to be shed on this.
In Ezekiel 47:12 (NIV), it says, "Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing." This verse beautifully illustrates how God designed creation with healing in mind. Just as the trees along the river bring both nourishment and restoration, God provided the earth with an abundance of plants and herbs for the physical and spiritual healing of His people.
From the beginning, God has given the body an immune system, a divinely designed defense mechanism to protect us from illness. And, in His wisdom, He also gave us plants, herbs, and natural remedies to support our healing process. The ancients recognized the power of nature’s medicine, using herbs and food to restore health long before modern pharmaceutical practices. God’s design was perfect from the start, and every step we take toward natural healing brings us back to His ways, which are higher than mankind’s.
Sadly, in today’s world, many have turned to man-made solutions, even when they are contrary to God's original plan. The word “sorcery” in the Bible, particularly in Revelation, refers not just to magical or occult practices, but to pharmakia—which means the use of drugs or potions. In Revelation 18:23 (NIV), it says, "By your magic spell all the nations were led astray." This is a warning that in the end times, people would be deceived into relying on unnatural and potentially harmful substances for healing, instead of trusting in the wisdom God has provided in nature.
Throughout our journey, we’ve experienced firsthand how God has been drawing us back to the natural remedies He placed on this earth. He’s continuously shown us that the answers to many of our health struggles can be found in His design, not in the hands of man. While modern medicine can be a blessing, we must remember that it’s God who ultimately heals and restores, often through the natural means He has set before us. If we trust in Him, we will find healing not just for our bodies, but for our spirits as well. Even if you don’t share our faith, we can all still hopefully share in the knowledge of food as medicine as the prevention side of disease and illness. ❤️ God bless you all.
