Hi, my name is Chelsie and I’m asking for you to help my best friends.
Three and a half years ago Britt and J.D. began one of the hardest battles of their lives which wouldn’t end until the end of 2022. This battle nearly cost them everything. They followed the suggestions of attorneys which cost them a lot of turmoil, harassment, and tens of thousands of dollars. So much of this was kept behind closed doors, for fear of judgment. Those of us that do know the whole story, know it was unfair and heartbreaking to watch two of the most selfless people endure. Through this, Britt and J.D. have refinanced their house, sold their possessions, spent countless hours away from their kids trying to work as much as possible, you name it.
While this is over now, rebuilding their life has been anything but easy. Their house is in need of repairs they weren’t able to afford because of this, they’re still indebted to the attorneys, they’re constantly trying to work harder to get ahead and build a better life for their family, but the extreme costs of fighting the battle left them with nothing but debt and fear of what their new normal looks like.
The person who caused all of this has been put on a civil commitment and the details of her life and mental health was finally shown, but it was too late to help this sweet family.
The negative impact has been felt by this family in so many ways, financially, mentally/emotionally, physically, etc. J.D. is a dedicated Army Veteran, serving his country for 15 years. These events brought PTSD, major depressive disorder, and anxiety to the surface for J.D., and with the support of his wife, family, and friends he fights every day to make it through. Brittany has had to carry the family through these dark times, always putting a smile on her face and being the rock of them all. Their faith in God has given them the strength to get through this far.
Through all of this, they continue to give to their family, friends, and community in any way they can.
This sweet family deserves more than I can even come close to being able to give them, but I know we need to help them, because they’d do the same for us. Let’s help them overcome this great obstacle and get back on their feet, they never deserved this.
