Donation protected
The Horelica family is in a time of need. Joannah is currently hospitalized with an infectious mass on her lung. After a week of tests, blood draws, and multiple scans her amazing medical team has determined that the cavitative mass on her lung is caused by streptococcal medias. This infection is known to affect the valves of the heart. Joannah will have a cardiac procedure called a TEE performed on Monday, August 28th to determine if the valves of her heart are infected. If the valves of her heart are not infected the current treatment plan is 6 weeks of IV antibiotics through her PICC line. The efficacy of the treatment will determine if more treatment is needed once the 6 week treatment is through. Joannah will be unable to work through the duration of the treatment.
This beautiful family was blessed with twins in March. The twins were born premature and spent a month each in the NICU. Joannah has been doing an excellent job solely breast feeding and pumping for the twins. That privilege has been taken away with this infection due to the medications that she has to take. Josh has been off work as much as he can to care for their 4 kids.
Above all we are asking for your prayers. Another way they would appreciate help is financially. Medical bills, formula, daycare, mortgage, utilities, and 3 children in diapers on a single income have exhausted their savings. Josh and Joannah are both first responders in the Abilene community, this is our time to give back to them and show our love and support.
