Help homeless shelters survive COVID-19

Tax deductible
Individuals experiencing homelessness are among the most vulnerable groups in this pandemic. Covid-19 is simply one more on a growing list of problems homeless individuals face, which include chronic diseases, lack of sanitation, malnutrition, etc. Self-quarantining and social distancing are luxuries those in extreme poverty cannot afford. With the current shortage of supplies, they need help now more than ever.

We believe that individuals seeking help should not be ignored!!

As community members here in San Diego and Riverside, we have a responsibility to help our neighbors. As college students, we have a responsibility to strive for positive social change. Hence, we are assembling 400+ care packages to deliver to local shelters in San Diego and Riverside.

A care package includes:

A reusable tote bag for personal items                                                $0.82
50" x 60" Fleece Blanket                                                                              $3.49
Granola bars                                                                                                        $0.21
Soap bottle                                                                                                           $0.38
Razors and Shaving cream                                                                          $1.00
Socks                                                                                                                        $0.50
Multi-function scarf (mask alternative)                                              $1.13
A personally-typed letter                                              Thoughts + prayers

With more temporary shelters opening up to accommodate more people, they are running low on basic necessities. We understand that this is nowhere near enough, but even the smallest help, such as $7, would mean the world to those in need.

Please also consider typing a personal letter. You can let someone know that they are not forgotten in these uncertain times (instructions to write letters here ). Your letter will be kept anonymous and included in the care packages we give out. Please send the letters to the email address below:
