Help the Homeless Glasgow – They Need Us Now
My name is Bob McHardy, and I’m asking from the heart.
In 2025, our friends Anton, Jim, Helen, and the small but mighty team behind the Help the Homeless Glasgow Facebook group continue to do something extraordinary — they show up, week after week, for people who have nothing.
A Group That Changes Lives
This is not a big charity with big budgets.
This is a small group of volunteers, funded only by the kindness of strangers, who give their evenings, weekends, and hearts to make sure those living on Glasgow’s streets have:
* A warm meal
* A clean pair of socks
* A sleeping bag or blanket
* Someone who knows their name and cares that they survive another night
They do this quietly, consistently, without expecting thanks — but now, they need our help.
❄️ The Cold Months Are Coming
As winter closes in, life on the streets becomes dangerous. The group is running low on the basics that keep people alive:
* Sleeping bags & tents
* Socks & clean underwear
* Toiletries & hygiene items
* Warm clothing & blankets
These are simple things — but to someone facing another night outside, they mean *everything.*
❤️ How You Can Help
I’m not fit enough to walk the streets with them, but I can do this — I can raise my voice and ask you to join me.
Every pound raised will go directly toward buying these life-saving supplies.
Please, if you are able, give what you can.
If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as powerful — you never know who might see it and be moved to help.
Starting with Love
I’m personally starting this fundraiser with £50 from the proceeds of our charity book *Bonnie Montrose.*
It’s a small gesture compared to the work these volunteers do every single week — but it’s a start. Will you stand with me?

Thank You
From my family to yours, thank you — for reading, for sharing, for caring.
This is about more than money. It’s about saying to those sleeping rough:
We see you. You matter. You are not forgotten.”

Special Thanks
To my friend Simon Kelly of Re Pro Design & Print in Montrose — who designed and donated the A-Board signs for the group, and even replaced one when it was damaged.
That’s the kind of quiet kindness that keeps this work going.
#ThankYou Simon.
