The Haines family has recently received heart-wrenching news that no one ever expects. Marc, the fun-loving husband and father of their family, has been diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. This diagnosis came as a complete shock, as Marc had been healthy and active until mid-February when he suddenly experienced extreme fatigue/unusual swelling in his ankles and went to the emergency room. After weeks of tests and uncertainty, the diagnosis was confirmed in early March. Marc will begin chemotherapy in mid-March, and while the family is doing their best to process this devastating news, they are facing an overwhelming amount of unknowns.

Through it all, the Haines family is clinging to their faith. Their trust in God and the love they share as a family are the anchors they are holding on to during this unimaginable time. As they navigate this incredibly difficult journey, we, as their community, want to surround them with love and support — not only as friends, but as the hands and feet of Christ.

Marc and his family have always cherished their love for travel, and we believe that now, more than ever, it would be special to create lasting memories together. With the uncertainty surrounding Marc’s ability to continue to work and the mounting medical expenses, we’d like to give them the opportunity to take a special family trip — a chance to step away from the worries and find some peace and joy together.
