Help the Grab Family Recover from Eaton Fire

Hi everyone - our names are Jenny, Sean, & Luke Grab and we are from Pasadena, CA. Unfortunately, on Tuesday night, our family was displaced from our home due to the Eaton fire. I will never forget the type of fear we felt seeing the fire just miles away, grabbing just a few things in a hurry, waking our 18-month-old son up, putting him in the car, and leaving.

After we were able to flee Pasadena amid the chaos, we went into survival mode to get through the next few days as we watched our friends and loved ones lose their homes. We are safe and are so lucky to have somewhere to stay in the meantime. Miraculously, our apartment that we just moved into is still standing. Although our home is still there, we are unable to go back for the foreseeable future because of the safety of our physical well-being and our son’s health, as well as the smoke damage in our apartment. Now we are moving out of survival mode and into the reality that we will not be able to return home for some time. With that reality came financial expenses that we were not expecting, and although we have our savings, we are watching it slowly diminish. This has included Target trips for necessities, food, professional cleaning in our apartment, air purifiers, and more. As far as we know, our property management company will not be assisting with internal cleaning of the apartment for smoke/soot damage. Not only has the Eaton fire removed our family from our home, but has put a blanket of unknown on our future income.

Any money that is donated will be used to help with these costs to make our apartment safe and livable again, as well as give our family assistance for everyday necessities while we are away from our home. We recognize how fortunate we are to still have a home that is standing. As reluctant as we are to ask for help - we need it. We are praying for those who lost their homes and are in situations such as ours. Anything helps, thank you for the support.
