HELP THE GLENDALE P.D. RETIRE THEIR FLAGS
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Jacob Kautzky and I am currently a Life Scout in Troop 210 in Burbank. I am working on my Eagle Scout Project which is the final step towards obtaining Eagle Scout Rank, the highest rank in Scouting.
For my community service project, I am partnering with the Glendale Police Department to make a Flag Retirement Drop Box. Residents will be able to drop off their retired flags in the box and have them retired properly. Flags are not meant to be flown when they are tattered, but they should not just be thrown in the trash. There is a special ceremony for retiring flags. My flag retirement box will make it easier for people who don't know what to do with their old flags. It will also help the Glendale Police Department which has residents bring their flags to them.
I will purchase a used USPS mailbox, have the dents removed, have a member from our troop who is an artist, make a patriotic design, and the Scouts from Troop 210 will paint the box.
The Glendale Police Department was founded in 1906. The mission of the Department is to protect the lives and the property of the people they serve.
I am organizing and leading this work project in July 2023. I will involve over 15 Scouts and Adults, working over an eight week time period, involving over 200 work hours with an expenditure of approximately $1,800. The $1,800 will be used to purchase the used USPS mailbox, repair of the mailbox, purchase painting materials, and additional supplies.
Please support the Glendale Police Department which protects our community by donating whatever you can to my GoFundMe account. All donations will go towards my project and any remaining money will be donated to the Glendale Police Department.
Thank you for your support.
