The Giving Tree's primary goal is to help those in need with essential supplies to help support a clean and healthy life. We help with household cleaners, personal needs such as shampoo, soap, etc, essential household items, and infant and children's clothing.

We offer two -kinds of premade bags of supplies. One for our homeless population and a pre-made helping hand bag's with essential supplies for a clean and healthy life.

I started the giving tree in 2014 after the death of my 8 year old disabled child. When I noticed the needs my neighbors had of the most basic things. Since then we have grown from helping our stret to helping the commuinty at large. I currently serve aprox 200 people, familes and receive reffals from other public agencies per week.

Last year I moved the orgazation out of my home and into the Riverfront Center in Amsterdam NY. We quickly more than doubled the amount of people we are serving and have out grew the space.

I am presently serving people in need in a 300 square foot space. There is simply not enough space to move let alone stock the products and bag them.

The Giving Tree NY is 100% grassroots. No grants, no corporate sponsors. I rely on donations from private people and myself to keep doing this. I simply want to help those truly in need of the very basic things that many can not afford.

We are seeking donations to pay for a years lease on a larger space that will allow us to be able to serve the commuinty in a more efficient manner. We are also seeking a space that is safe for myself when alone.
