Help the Gilmeisters

 Parents, Zakk and Amanda Gilmeister have a house full of boys, but early this year, they found out they would finally be blessed with a baby girl, Lucy. Unfortunately, the pregnancy had been rough. At 22 weeks pregnant Amanda woke up to her water breaking. Her husband Zakk rushed her to the ER, but not much could be done since Lucy was so small. Thankfully, Amanda didn't go into full labor, and little Lucy still had a strong heartbeat, and enough amniotic fluid to stay with Amanda longer. Zakk and Amanda decided to to whatever they could for Lucy, which meant bedrest, IV antibiotics and steroids for Amanda to help Lucy's lungs develop. The next few weeks were terrifying. Amanda had several bleeding episodes, but little Lucy kept fighting through it. Finally, on March 10th 2019, little Lucille Sara Gilmeister was born via emergency C-section at just 24 weeks, and weighing less than 2lbs. She tried to cry and breathe, but she is just too little. She is surviving and fighting for her life in the NICU. Amanda is doing as much as she can and is doing well after her C-section. Zakk is being the best husband, and father that he can. Now we wait, and we pray that little Lucy pulls through. This GoFundMe page is to help out the Gilmeister family through this rough patch. Amanda has had to take off of work earlier than expected, and needs to stay out of work to recover. She hasn't been home for weeks to help Zakk with their boys, so Zakk has had to take quite a bit of time off of work to take care of his family and run his household, not to mention the extra child care expenses. Insurance will cover most of the medical expenses, but there are still thousands of dollars the Gilmeisters have to come up with for deductables.
