# Supporting The Gibson’s Journey to Parenthood

Dear Family and Friends,

I'm reaching out today on behalf of two beloved members of our church community, ZakaYah (aka Katherine) and Jeff. If you know them, you've likely been touched by their kindness, their strong faith, and their love for children and Muffin of course. Many of us have watched as they've poured their hearts into creating a family and supported other families in their walk with the Lord.

Now, it's our turn to support them.

## Their Story

The Gibson’s have been hoping to start their family, but their journey to parenthood has been long and heartbreaking leading them to need IVF (In Vitro Fertilization).

For the Gibson family, the journey through infertility and pregnancy loss has been both emotionally and financially devastating. Like many couples facing PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), their path to parenthood has been filled with countless doctor appointments, medications, and heartbreak.

PCOS has made conceiving naturally extremely challenging due to irregular ovulation and hormonal imbalances. Each month brings a cycle of hope and disappointment. The fertility treatments they need aren't fully covered by insurance, leaving them to shoulder most of these expenses on their own. They do have full medical insurance however the plan doesn't cover any costs for infertility.

Their journey has been further complicated by the trauma of pregnancy loss and an ectopic pregnancy that required emergency medical intervention and resulted in the loss of a fallopian tube.

The costs of fertility treatments, including medications, monitoring appointments, and assisted reproductive procedures, can range from thousands to tens of thousands of dollars per attempt. While they remain hopeful and determined to build their family, the financial burden has become overwhelming.

As their friend and fellow church member, I've witnessed their unwavering faith and strength throughout this challenging journey. They've approached every step with grace, hope, and trust in God's plan, even when the path has been difficult.

## The Need

While The Gibson’s are private and humble people who would never ask for help themselves, I'm stepping forward to rally our community around them. The cost of IVF treatment is substantial, typically ranging from $12,000 to $17,000 per cycle, with additional medication costs of $3,000 to $5,000. However they have found CNY clinic which helps to lower cost substantially. They range from $5,000-$15,000. We're hoping to raise $15,000 to help ease their financial burden of travel and medications and allow them to focus on their journey to parenthood.

These funds will help cover:

- The IVF treatment cycle

- Required medications

- Associated medical procedures

- Travel expenses

## Why I'm Organizing This

As someone blessed to know The Gibson’s personally, I've seen how much love they have to give a child. They've touched so many lives in our church community through acts of service, loving on others, counseling young couples, pouring into children’s lives who have even endearingly created a song about them, and much more. I believe supporting them in building their family is one way we can show God's love in action.

**** Jeff and ZakaYah have done much research about invitro fertilization and they understand the sensitivity of the subject and the controversy involved. They have put a lot of thought and research into this and they do want you to know that there will not be any aborted fetuses in the process. Each and every embryo will be carried.
