Hi, My name is Maxine Fehr and I have no idea how to start this. I never thought I would reach out like this, but here we are.. After the death of my mother last year, my father's health has gone down hill. They loved each other for 48 years, and her sudden passing left a hole that nothing could fill. My mother has never been in good health and taking care of her gave my father purpose. By losing her, he lost himself. Now, It is just my father, myself and my two children, and almost 2 months ago, my father went into the emergency room at the Sturgeon Hospital and I have recently been told by his medical team that he can no longer live on his own and now needs round the clock care. This has been very sudden. He went from a proud , independent man, to a shadow of himself who can no longer eat on his own, go to the bathroom or communicate verbally, and no one has any answers for me. I have been told that he needs to be placed in extended care and I have no idea of what I am doing or how much this is going to cost us financially. As it stands, I am a single mother of two amazing children , I work two jobs and odd jobs to keep us going of which I can no longer do full time right now because of our new circumstances. I need to figure out how to keep us a float while situating my father, clearing his place this month and covering any costs and medical expenses that can occur during this time. So that comes back to this. I am asking for assistance to cover these costs and alleviate some of the pressure this is having on myself and my whole family. I don't know how to word this, I have no idea if this is the right way to go about things but I here. Any help, shares or consideration would be greatly appreciate.
