Help the Family of Billy Arney
Donation protected
As many of you know, my uncle Billy Arney passed away 7/19/2023. As much as none of us believed anything could ever hurt the great Billy Arney, cancer is one thing he couldn’t beat. He fought for 3.5 years and gave it hell right back though. We expected nothing less. My aunt Tasha was his primary care taker and unfortunately they both had to stop working some time in 2022 due to him being weaker and needing more aggressive and around the clock care from Aunt Tasha. You can imagine what a financial strain this was, on top of the emotional and physical strain they were already experiencing. They took to selling tools, and things from the garage that they didn’t need because they weren’t working just to make it. Uncle Billy spent the last few weeks in an ICU in Washington DC. Uncle Billy used most the strength he had left to let all of us know he wanted to come home to his favorite place in the world, the city of Norfolk. My aunt of course didn’t blink an eye, and dipped into the last of her funds from selling things to book an emergency transport and brought him to his home. Between that, their car going out a few weeks ago, all the hospital visits these last few months and trying to plan a celebration of life, you can imagine the financial weight on everyone’s shoulders. It’s hard watching those you love try to grieve while also figuring out how they can afford to throw their husband and father the celebration he deserves. No one should have to worry about money at a time like this. It would be amazing if the city of Norfolk could come together and help the family through this difficult time. Of course, nothing will take away the pain of losing him, but easing the stress might help them breathe a little better. After all, he loved us all enough to wait until he was home to pass on. Thank you for anyone who donates or even sends a prayer their way, it’s greatly appreciated. Long live the great Billy Arney. We love you.
