Help the families of our firefighters - Martyn and Jennie

Donation protected
Last week, we lost two of our own.

Firefighters Martyn and Jennie

Who, like so many of us, stepped forward knowing the risks, and did it anyway. They showed up to serve, to protect, and to make a difference. And in doing so, they paid the ultimate price.

They were everything we admire in this job: brave, selfless, committed. But beyond the uniform, they were people
with families, with dreams, with futures that should have stretched far beyond that shift.

As a service, we will debrief. We will investigate, reflect, and learn sometimes over months, even years.
But for their families, the impact is immediate. The heartbreak is now.
The loss isn’t theoretical. It’s a daily reality.

And that’s why we can’t wait.
We must stand by them today.

We’ve launched a GoFundMe to support the families of Martyn and Jennie because behind every firefighter is a family that serves and sacrifices too. Every donation, every share, every kind word helps lift some of the weight they now carry.

We’re asking you our fire family, our brotherhood and sisterhood to come together. Pass this on, share it far and wide. Let’s honour their legacy not just in words, but in action.

All funds raised will be split equally between the two families.

To those of you still serving if you’re struggling, speak up. If you’re hurting, don’t carry it alone.
We are stronger together.
And we look after our own.

Remember, the Fire Fighters Charity is there for all of us—serving, retired, and families alike. Use it. Lean on each other. Stay connected.

To Martyn and Jennie:
We will remember your courage.
We honour your sacrifice.

Rest easy. We’ve got it from here.

In addition, we have a further two firefighters that were seriously injured at the same incident. We'd also like to support them in and hopefully take some of the burden of recovery off them.

Thank you all.

**** Update on Money Raised*****

Hi All,

Firstly thank you all so very much for your kind generosity towards this cause. Your kindness has meant the fundraiser has far surpassed what any of us were expecting and for that we are eternally grateful.

Unfortunately there have been a few delays / hurdles in getting the money to where it needs to go... into the hands of the families affected. To that end, we are wanting to speed up the process and not cause any further delay. We have requested that GoFundMe release the funds into our personal account, at which point we will then forward that money onto the account held by the station Martyn and Jennie served at. Chris, a crew manager on station will then be able to distribute the money. It seems like a very convoluted way of doing things, trust us we know. But as the account held by the station is not a charitable account, nor an individual account we cannot get GoFundMe to verify it.
We will be making this very very transparent for anyone that wants to see. I will be taking screen shots of the amounts raised, fee's incurred by GoFundMe and also confirmation of money being sent onto the station account. Like i said, anyone that wants to see the evidence can. We wont be hiding anything.
Thank you again for the money raised, and thankyou for your understanding on this weird situation we find ourselves in, we just want the money to go to those that need it and this seems like the quickest and most logical way to do that.

Thanks again

Adam and Pete
