Help the Ewert's Grow Their Family

Hey Friends and Family,

I am starting this page to help fund my family's adoption and surrogacy journey. This money will help pay medical bills, medication, adoption fees and any additional expenses involved in these processes.

We want to share our story to reveal God’s provision and His faithfulness, answering our prayers even in the midst of difficult circumstances. More than any monetary donation, we are asking for your prayers throughout our continued journey as we believe God will provide.

In 2018 we were blessed with a beautiful baby girl via C-section. She was and continues to be so healthy, smart, and beautiful. A week after this procedure, I ended up in the emergency room due to hemorrhaging, not knowing at the time that this was the number one cause of death post birth for mothers. Shortly after our arrival home following Emily's birth, I hemorrhaged a second time leading to a D&C procedure. This means the doctor goes in and takes out any residual placenta, etc. to stop the bleeding. This procedure went as expected, and we returned home that night. Another week or so later we began traveling to Minnesota from our home in Tennessee to visit family. We ended up at an emergency room in Illinois, staying three days. Here I received two units of blood and a Hysteroscopy, which is a D&C with a scope. Five days after arrival to Minnesota, on February 14, 2018, I was hospitalized after my uterus ruptured internally; this resulted in an emergency surgery. After six days in the hospital post surgery, I was discharged, but unable to travel for about a month. Of course, God provided even in this challenging situation: my husband's family who lives in the same town I had surgery graciously took care of us. The Lord was truly working to show us the blessing He rained down upon us during this time.

Upon healing from these surgeries, we began trying to have children again but were unsuccessful. After many specialty doctors doing all they could, medications, procedures, bloodwork, etc., it was concluded that I had Asherman's Syndrome, which is a rare, acquired, gynecological disorder of the uterus. It is characterized by the bonding of scar tissue that lines the walls of the uterus, which decreases the volume of the uterine cavity.  In other words I am unable to grow a lining which means an egg is unable to attach, and I cannot carry children. This news was and continues to be so devastating to our family, as we have always wanted a big family. Little Emily at 2 months

Our journey has now brought us a year in to our surrogacy journey with a wonderful family out of state. Due to many roadblocks we are slowly working through this process but are hopeful as the Lord brought us together and continues to work in ways we could not have imagined on our own. He has also revealed to us that adoption is a route we believe we are supposed to pursue, and we have had so much faith in this. As we work through both journeys, we are asking if you are able and/or willing to donate to help provide provide funding. Please know, we are so extremely grateful for any support. The love we want to give to any child, whether born by surrogacy or lovingly adopted through the agency, is exponential and continually growing with each day that passes.

Here are some prayer points we graciously ask for:

1.) That both journeys continue to move forward with no roadblocks
2.) All babies we hope to love and bring into our family are healthy
3.) Blessings on our surrogate and our future adoption birth mother

Please continue to pray in anyway you feel led. We know the Lord is bringing us someone to love and are so grateful if you are able to help us along the way. Please give what you feel led to give. Thank you.

We appreciate your prayers.

1 Corinthians 13:13

“So now faith, hope and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
