Help The Eddy Family Rebuild After Fire
Donation protected
Late last night, lightning struck the Eddy family's property in Clarkesville, Georgia, igniting a fire that completely destroyed their beloved barn. In minutes, years of memories, family heirlooms, childhood photos, and sentimental items (many passed down from their late grandmother) were lost.
The Eddy family had been spending the last 4 months restoring the barn, preparing it to be a space for community, gatherings, and storytelling. It was hoped to be a place rooted in legacy and love.
Unfortunately, the structure was only covered under a liability insurance policy as insurance would not insure it. Because of this, insurance does not cover damage to personal property or buildings. This means they will receive no insurance assistance to cover the loss or cleanup. The cleanup is all on the Eddy’s shoulders.
Now, beyond the emotional weight of losing such a meaningful space, they face a significant and unexpected financial burden from demolition and debris removal to the loss of inventory and legacy.
If you know the Eddy family, you know their home has always been a place of open doors, generosity, and welcome. Over 4 decades they have shown up for many in the community by creating jobs and inspiring faith — now it’s our turn to show up for them.
We’re raising funds to support them through this time, help cover cleanup costs, and begin rebuilding what was lost.
Every donation, large or small, makes a difference.
With love and gratitude,
Anna Sarkisian

$100,000 Goal Breakdown
To stay transparent, we’ve set a total goal of $100,000, broken into smaller milestones to track progress and celebrate along the way.
Cleanup Costs:
• The barn (20,000 sqft) was filled with wood, metal roofing, insulation, and ash.
• Burned materials are often considered hazardous waste, raising disposal costs.
• Estimated cleanup and labor: $60K–$100K.
• Hauling and dumping fees: $5K–$20K, depending on material and distance.
Insurance Coverage:
• The barn was not covered under the family’s policy.
• Liability insurance will not cover cleanup or rebuilding expenses.
Future Use of the Property:
• The Eddy family had been restoring the barn as a space for community gatherings.
• Any remaining funds will help kickstart that vision, creating something meaningful from the loss.

We can’t recover the irreplaceable—but we can rebuild, together.
Thank you.
