On July 1, the Duque Duarte family’s life changed in an instant. At midnight, while the mother and three children were upstairs, a fire rig crashed into their home. The husband was downstairs in the living room when the impact sent him into the kitchen, leaving him in poor condition. Thankfully, the rest of the family is physically safe, but they are still in shock and unable to return to their home.

The house is now too dangerous to enter, and it will soon be demolished. The family lost everything—clothes, furniture, and personal belongings. They are facing the daunting task of starting over from zero, needing to find a new place to live and replace the essentials that make a home.
