Support the Doyon Benson Family after Their Home Apartment Fire in Auburn, Maine.

We are reaching out on behalf of our dear cousin, endearing single mom, beloved niece, and friend, Megan D. Benson and her three children.

Megan and her three children, ages 14, 13, and 10 sustained an electrical kitchen fire in their apartment home in Auburn, Maine, this March of 2025. They lost all their personal and home belongings, except the dining room table and chairs. They were forced to evacuate with only the clothes they were wearing. When they were allowed back inside multiple days later to retrieve items, they found most all was lost due to fire, water (sprinkler), smoke, soot, and mold damage.

This has been such a difficult time for this close knit family. They have been forced to stay in Hotels, and friends’ places close to the kids’ schools. It has been a long wait for their apartment to be repaired while also trying to find a different place to call home.

If you can find it in your heart to donate, no matter the amount, it will make a meaningful difference to help this family get back on their feet, so they may rebuild their lives. 100% of your donations will go Megan.

Megan’s adult life has been dedicated to her three children (she lost both parents to vehicle accidents when she was just a child, herself). She’s very committed to her kids. She says, “ they are involved in many activities and sports because they always come first”, while Megan also deals with her own auto immune disease, and other personal health issues. Her kids are involved in various extracurricular activities including Band, Chorus, Track, Softball, Art, Student Council, Theatre, Cheering, and Community Service. There’s even a Cello Player in the family. They also are honor roll students.

Megan also recently lost her car due to “too many needed repairs”. Her far reaching dream and wish is to have a small, used, reliable vehicle to “cart the kids back and forth and for work”.

Funds raised will cover all the needs to give the Bensons a home again along with some semblance of normality. And maybe even a car?!
