<div>We are reaching out on behalf of our dear cousin, endearing single mom, beloved niece, and friend, Megan D. Benson and her three children.
</div>

</div>
<div>Megan and her three children, ages 14, 13, and 10 sustained an electrical kitchen fire in their apartment home in Auburn, Maine, this March of 2025. They lost all their personal and home belongings, except the dining room table and chairs. They were forced to evacuate with only the clothes they were wearing. When they were allowed back inside multiple days later to retrieve items, they found most all was lost due to fire, water (sprinkler), smoke, soot, and mold damage.

<div>This has been such a difficult time for this close knit family. They have been forced to stay in Hotels, and friends’ places close to the kids’ schools.  It has been a long wait for their apartment to be repaired while also trying to find a different place to call home.
</div>
<div>If you can find it in your heart to donate, no matter the amount, it will make a meaningful difference to help this family get back on their feet, so they may rebuild their lives. 100% of  your donations will go Megan.

<div>Megan’s adult life has been dedicated to her three children (she lost both parents to vehicle accidents when she was just a child, herself). She’s very committed to her kids. She says, “ they are involved in many activities and sports because they always come first”, while Megan also deals with her own auto immune disease, and other personal health issues. Her kids are involved in various extracurricular activities including Band, Chorus, Track, Softball, Art, Student Council, Theatre, Cheering, and Community Service. There’s even a Cello Player in the family. They also are honor roll students.

<div>Megan also recently lost her car due to “too many needed repairs”. Her far reaching dream and wish is to have a small, used, reliable vehicle to “cart the kids back and forth and for work”.
</div>

<div>Funds raised will cover all the needs to give the Bensons a home again along with some semblance of normality. And maybe even a car?!
</div>

<div>Cody was born in February, at 33 weeks, with a heart defect called TAPVR (Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return, as well as PDA (the opening between the aorta and pulmonary arteries did not close). After a major open heart surgery at 6 weeks old, another open heart surgery more recently, PDA repair, and over 17 months in the hospital, Cody was been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension.

<div>In October of 2024, Cody finally got to go home. For the last 6 months, he filled the house with joy and the business only a toddler can.
</div>

<div>Reese Doyon, 17, a current student at Franklin High School, was recently diagnosed with FND, functional neurological disorder, and is currently battling non-epileptic seizures, occurring almost daily for up to multiple hours at a time. She has been fighting this battle since June. There are very limited resources for adolescents with this diagnosis. Reese has been admitted to Boston Children's Hospital, has been to the ER multiple times, has gotten multiple EEG’s and brain scans done, has seen multiple neurologists and therapists, and we can’t seem to get these events under control.

<div>These seizures prevent Reese from living her everyday life, causing her to miss almost half of the school year so far. She is currently involved in various things such as Best Buddies, unified basketball, unified sports, AAU basketball, and varsity basketball at Franklin High school. Her involvement in all of these have been put to a stop due to her current state.
</div>

<div>These seizures leave her unconscious with the loss of speech and mobility from her hips down. These could take up to 24 hours to come back. Because these seizures can occur daily, she isn’t able to live her life like an average teenager.
</div>

<div>With this being said, we are trying to raise money for her to get a <strong>seizure-alert service dog</strong> that would help her know when a seizure is coming and <strong>KEEP HER SAFE</strong>. This dog would give both Reese and her family some comfort knowing that she will always be safe.
</div>

Kelly and Andrea, a fun-loving, dog-loving, hard-working, family &amp; friends-first, caring, sweet couple suffered a terrible loss today... their home and all of their cherished possessions. <br /><br />As they typically do, they took their dogs out to enjoy a sunny Sunday afternoon in Maine today. Sadly, they returned to their home engulfed in flames. Andrea & Kelly House Fire

<p dir="ltr">Jerry Keene is one of the most kind and selfless people you will ever have the privilege to meet. He has a light inside of him that people are drawn to and he shines in any room he enters. Sadly it has been recently discovered that he has cancerous lesions in his bones causing microfractures and inflamation that give him excruciating pain constantly. The outlook does not look good, no bone in his body is untouched by this cancer. The only way to keep him comfortable is a constant i.v. drip of pain medication, and even that is sometimes not enough. Currently he is being hospitalized at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston Mass. The prognosis for Jerry at this time is unknown but there is no question he will need additional weeks or even months of hospitalization. Even after he is able to leave the hospital it is not known yet, how much he will be able to recover because of the severe damage to his bones. This Go Fund Me is to help the Keene family as they are going through these devastating circumstances. All of your thoughts and prayers are so wonderful, but if you are able to make a donation, his wife Barbara and his eight children are grateful for anything you are able to give to this beautiful man. Jerry Keene Fund

On Saturday afternoon, 8/15/15,  a very strong thunderstorm came through the area.  There were heavy rains accompanied by strong thunder and lightening.  Thankfully the Esmond family was not at there when lightening struck their home.  <br />  <br />Unfortunately the lightening strike resulted in a fire .  There were no fire hydrants available on the road . The fire burned as the many fireman from 6 surrounding towns, brought in water and pumped it through the hose.  <br /><br />The bonus room and upstairs bathroom are completely burned through.  The rest of the home has significant smoke and water damage.  The family was told that the house is "unlivable" and that  it will take at least 6 months before they can move back in.<br /><br />We  would like to help this wonderful family with costs associated with finding a temporary home and replacing possessions small and large- things that may not be covered by insurance.  Items like food, clothing and toiletries are needed right away.  School supplies for their daughter and warmer clothes for the upcoming months.  <br /><br />On behalf of the Esmond family- thank you so very much!
