Proverbs 19:21 says "Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand." Our course to the adoption process has been a journey that was definitely unexpected and not one that we planned.
We were married 4 years ago and knew that we wanted to start a family of our own. We imagined our home being filled with children that resembled us and dreamed about our future together.
However, shortly after we were married we were told by several doctors that due to Joshua's childhood brain cancer and the radiation that saved his life, we would not be able to conceive children of our own.
Upon hearing this news were were devastated! After shedding many tears, God brought us to a place of surrender to Him. We had to surrender our dreams and expectations of biological children and be willing to accept God's plan of parenthood for us.
Once we both began praying about the possibility of adoption, God made it VERY clear that this is His path for us and we are following Him.
Most of you probably know that adopting a child into a family can be a costly endeavor. We simply do not have the funds to fully finance our adoption and yet we have already begun the process and sent our application to Christian Adoption Consultants. After doing research we see that the average cost of adoption is around $30,000. This number seems OVERWHELMING to us and we know that on our own there is no way we can do it. However, we serve a big God and we trust Him to provide for us.
We humbly ask that if you feel led to help us make our dreams a reality that you will please give to our goal. Even if you cannot give financially, please keep us in your prayers.
Our ultimate desire is to bring God glory throughout this process. God's cost to adopt us was infinitely greater than any cost we will endure in adopting and raising children. We pray that God will use this adoption process to help us share His heart for adoption and how He has adopted us in love through Christ's sacrifice on the cross so that we can be children of God.
