Dear family and friends,

We are reaching out with broken hearts to share that on August 26, 2025, Linda (Contreras) DiCosola suffered the unimaginable, sudden, and devastating pregnancy complication. At 33 weeks pregnant, Linda suffered an Amniotic Fluid Embolism (AFE) - an extremely rare, life-threatening condition that affects only 1 in 40,000 pregnancies and occurs without warning. Tragically, her precious baby girl could not be saved, and Linda is in a fight for her own life.

Today, Linda lies in critical condition at Rush ICU with her husband Vito by her side, all while their son Renzo is being cared for by loved ones, while he tries to understand that his world has been flipped upside down.

We are raising funds to help support the DiCosola family with the ongoing critical care and rehabilitation for Linda, funeral and memorial costs for their baby, emotional and trauma support for Renzo, and loss of daily income for Vito while he remains steadfastly by her side. Any and every bit would help, and if you are unable to donate, prayers and support are needed and would be appreciated.

Linda is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend - and a fighter. She is also a nurse who so passionately follows her calling of helping others. She has given so much to so many, now it's our turn to give back to her.
