Hello friends and family!
The Damkroger family is finding ourselves in an emergency situation. We're about to be evicted from our home. You may not know, but in addition to apraxia and autism, Brett also has epilepsy. His seizures have become more frequent and stronger over the past few months and are quite debilitating. He has been forced to stop many of his favorite activities, such as horseback riding. He has also had to modify some, including taking dancing lessons online instead of in person, to ensure his safety. In late December, he had a bad seizure which resulted in a head injury and emergency transport to the hospital. This set off a devastating chain of financial events, which led to our current situation with housing. Although we have appealed this as unfair and possibly illegal due to the circumstances, we were denied relief. Now, just as we are about to be forced to leave and stay in a temporary situation, they have determined that we can "buy out" what we owe. The total amount of several months' rent plus fees is over $10,000, of which we have less than half. We are embarrassed and humiliated to have to ask for help, but we are desperate. If you can't help, we totally understand, and would like to ask for prayers that our outcome will be the least traumatic for all of us, but especially Brett. We love all of you! ❤️
