Help the Cushing Family Rebuild After Fire

Hi, everyone. I’m reaching out on behalf of my good friend Kelsey, her husband Jonathan, and their boys Tobin (12) and Gavin (9). On January 8th, their home in Altadena burned down in the Eaton Fire. Tragically, this was the second time in two years that they lost their home to fire.

It was early morning on January 8th when the family made the tough decision to evacuate with just a few clothes and a few other items they could quickly throw in the car. They ended up evacuating twice more over the next two days as the fires continued spreading throughout the greater Los Angeles area—threatening their safety.

While everyone is so grateful they made it out safely with their adorable dogs, Otis and Yogi, they will not be able to return to the home that brought them joy and stability after a very rocky couple years. They have lost everything that was in their home.

Kelsey is a high school chemistry teacher and Jonathan is a small business owner in the community. Miraculously, his business's building is still standing after all the surrounding buildings burned down as well.

Their business is eager to assess the damage, get up and running and support their community as they have a long road ahead of them.

If you know Kelsey, Jonathan, or the boys, you know that they are wonderful, kind, and resilient people. But as you can imagine, having to rebuild after the fire is going to be a long and challenging process for them. And so this is a way we can help.

Any donation you can manage will go toward helping them toward rebuilding their lives.
