Hello. My name is Vanessa Cotton. On Monday morning around 6 a.m., my family & I returned from an out-of-town trip with family. We were woken up by the frantic barking and being jumped on by our dogs, Thor & Coco. There was a fire happening on our back porch which engulfed the back wall of my house. We are all ok. My husband jumped up and got the water hose, and I ran to get my girls out of the house and called 911 immediately. I am thankful to God that everything was cosmetic. We didn't lose anything that can't be replaced. On that note, we have reached out to Red Cross but there is only so much they can do, so we are asking for help so we may buy our building supplies to get our home back in shape. We are appreciative of the help already received from family and friends, even strangers. I'm not sure how much this will all cost, but we are grateful for anything. We need a new wall, insulation, sheetrock, roofing supplies, a beam for our foundation, a water heater, plumbing supplies, and wiring for the electrical part of it.

We did not expect this to happen, but who does? We are blessed to have made it out alive and well. I am happy that all my babies were safe. I am sooo thankful to my doggos for saving us. Now it's time to pick our heads up and put our home back together.
