Help the Community of Hawkwood Fight the 5G Cell Tower
Donation protected
Help the Community of Hawkwood fundraise to help cover legal fees for the fighting the proposal of a 5G Cell Tower in the Hawkwood Village Plaza, beside Petro Canada gas station and 7-11, which is directly across the street from the Hawkwood Elementary School, directly beside a retirement village, and close to a Day Care, a Pre-school for special needs children, a Dental office, many other local businesses, not to mention hundreds of residential homes.
As a resident of Hawkwood, we understand the need for communication towers, however, the plan to position this tower so close to our homes and vulnerable individuals is a critical concern. Distance matters with electromagnetic radiation. Building biologists, who are the specialists in electromagnetic radiation say that anything closer than a mile has a health effect. Various studies are starting to report problems from exposure to electromagnetic radiation and it is being recommended that schools, parks, homes, hospitals and elderly homes be kept at least 400m (1300 feet) from any cell tower to keep people out of the “hot zone”. There are many residences, the school, and the local businesses that are well within 75 meters of the proposed tower.
Our community is going to court to try to stop this proposed cell tower from being built. Estimate for legal fees is $6500. Please support our cause!
