We want to be fully transparent with you all: keeping The Church open has become a real struggle. As a team, we’re responsible for $8,500 in monthly rent, plus utilities—$1,000 for electricity and water, $200 for gas, $300 for Wi-Fi—on top of covering all repairs in the space.

Even with the shows we host, many months we’re still paying out of pocket just to keep the lights on. With the current job market and cuts to DEI initiatives, this has hit especially hard for our team—many of us are POC, LGBTQ+, and/or disabled, and we’re feeling the added weight of these systemic challenges.

But we’re not giving up. We’ve been working tirelessly to reinvent The Church as a true community space—launching harm reduction efforts, planning exciting new projects, and making sure this remains a safe, magical place for all of you. None of this would be possible without your support, and we’re endlessly grateful.

Right now, we’re hoping that future shows and events will help ease the financial strain. But until then, we’re humbly asking for your help to get us through this tough period.
