The Church of the Open Mind is more than just a mutant vehicle — it's a sanctuary of joy, connection, and radical self-expression at Burning Man. Our beautiful art car has become a welcoming space for thousands of Burners, offering rides across the Playa, hosting unforgettable dance parties, and even officiating spontaneous weddings.

For many, the Church is the first art car they feel safe and comfortable hopping onto. That’s not by accident — we’ve built a reputation for being radically inclusive, kind, and open to all.

As we gear up to return to the dust in just a few days, we’ve hit an unexpected bump in the road: a full brake system overhaul set us back $8,000 — and while the Church is now safer than ever, that repair drained our budget.

We’re asking our community to help us raise $3,000 to cover fuel costs so we can make the pilgrimage and keep the Church rolling for all.
