Dear Friends, Family, and Community Members,

Yes, we know it's a bit early to talk about tinsel and eggnog, but for the children we serve, Christmas planning starts now. We are reaching out today on behalf of Gift of Memories, Inc., a newly established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to creating cherished, joyful memories for kids living in group homes across the Phoenix West Valley.

For a child in a group home, the holidays can often feel less like a celebration and more like just another day. We are here to change that.

Our mission, which began 15 years ago with four of my students and help from a few church friends, is simple: to bring Joy, Happiness, and lasting good memories to these kids on Christmas Day.

Why Your Donation is So Important

One of my fondest memories is of a student introducing me to a new kid in his group home, not as "Mr. Levesque, the Computer Teacher," but as "The Christmas Dude." This is the spirit we strive to embody—a spirit of personal connection and pure, unforgettable holiday magic.

We are currently raising funds to ensure 300 kids and their accompanying guardians from 30 group homes receive a wonderful Christmas experience. Your generous support will directly fund three key initiatives:

A Classic Christmas Breakfast: We plan to host a warm, delicious breakfast on Christmas morning for all 300 kids and their adults at a local Denny's, a tradition we’ve maintained for 14 years (except during COVID, when we pivoted to "Pizza and Ice Cream parties" delivered to each house!).

Personalized Gifts of Dignity: We want to give each child a gift card so they can personally choose and purchase a present that they truly want this Christmas. This small act provides a powerful sense of ownership and dignity.

Group Home Supplies and Fun: Depending on your generosity, we will purchase much-needed recreational items for the group homes for general use, such as footballs, soccer balls, basketballs, puzzles, and art supplies. Another favorite is "Movie Money," which allows the kids to be taken out to the movies and enjoy the full experience with popcorn and a soda.
