The Christensen's journey with Brain Cancer:Family Support
Donation protected
My name is Ashley, and I would like to share a story of lifelong friendship and love. See, I have a best friend, Carie, of 25 years. She met and married a man, Bryann, who happens to be my husband's best friend. Together they have a beautiful daughter, Jenna. We along with our children have shared many things throughout these years, but nothing has been as hard as Bryann and his family go through brain cancer.
In July of 2013, Bryann was told by doctors he had a brain tumor. Bryann has undergone multiple brain surgeries as well as various rounds of chemotherapy and radiation in an effort to suppress further growth. In July of 2024 Bryann was found to have new tumor growth. He underwent another brain surgery to remove the new tumor and the doctors were successful in removing the new tumor and also the removal of the original tumor. Bryann began chemotherapy and radiation as well as various other treatments to keep new growth at bay. Bryann and family have been strong and hopeful in keeping symptoms and further progression in check. During a recent hospitalization and testing, it was discovered that Bryann's cancer has progressed to both sides of his brain. Bryann returned home on hospice to spend time with family and friends. Carie will be staying home to care for Bryann and will be unable to work.
They say that these things bring people closer, and that is true, but when you share a love so deep for this chosen family you've made, you will do anything to make sure they can be successful so they can spend as much time left together as possible. So I would like to share their journey in hopes that it may help someone else as we ask for help from others.
Update: On April 9th, 2025, Bryann passed away peacefully surrounded by those he loved. He will be missed dearly and never forgotten. We thank all who have supported and loved them during this time.
