Our names are Joann Lafon and Brenda Hall. We have set up this Go Fund Me account to try and help our neighbors who are in a truly desperate situation.
Our friend and neighbor, Dixie Carnahan, is 64 years old and is trying to recover from triple bypass heart surgery she had 3 months ago. Her husband, Robert, is 75 years old and lost one of his feet to uncontrolled diabetes last year. Their 40 year old son, Charlie, is learning disabled and requires around the clock supervision.
Due to their advanced age and serious health issues, Dixie and Robert are unable to work. Their income is very, very limited and their medical expenses are very, very high. They live in a camper that is falling down around them and the living conditions they are forced to endure are horrific....electrical wires are exposed, a hole in the floor is covered with duct tape, the toilet is non-working and requires a bucket of water to be poured into the bowl in order to flush, the toilet leaks at the back onto the floor, the camper air conditioning is not in working order and two of them are forced to sleep on a tabled converted to a bed and a sofa. The odor coming from the toilet is unbearable and is without question unhealthy.
Our sincere plea is for you to PLEASE help us help them! Our hope and prayer is that through this Go Fund Me account and through your generosity and compassion, we can raise enough money to buy them a better camper to live in.....a place to call home where they can feel safe and be as healthy as possible.
