7 days ago my father, my hero, was diagnosed with end stage liver disease. He was given an estimated 3 months to live.

While Medicare covers many of the end-of-life costs, Medicaid covers the room and board. The problem is, we've been told there are no beds currently available in Las Vegas.

Because of that, we've had no other option but to move him in with my sister who has been forced to take an unpaid leave of absence from work to be able to be his full-time caregiver.

Together, as a family, we are working to raise money to help lessen the financial burden, covering her mortgage and his food costs until he takes his precious final breath.
