Help the Busua Beach Cleanup, Ghana
Donation protected
A beautiful paradise, Busua beach is home to fishermen, surfers, families, and the occasional traveler. However, while the small town beach is absolutely gorgeous, it struggles with plastic pollution, from local as well as global consumption. Hence a local cleanup initiative has been established under the lead of William Owusu, a surfer and resident of Busua. Every Saturday is devoted to cleaning the beach, and every Wednesday to cleaning the streets, while also engaging the local population and educating the children about environmental issues.
However, the group, called Sankofa Youth Organization, lacks funds and their access to necessary tools is far from adequate. Thus your contribution would be highly valued—whether big or small, we promise it would make a huge difference!

Right now, the immediate need for funding covers the following items:
- Brooms
- Safety boots (to be able to clean the gutters)
- Hand groves
- Wheelbarrows
- Shovels
- Public trash cans and bins (currently do not exist at all)
- Nose masks
- Rakes
- Cutlasses
- Group t-shirts (to spread the message)
For reference, 10 000 sek ≈ 9400 cedi. The money will be transfered from the registered GoFundMe account to William Owusu.
