Hi, my name is Christan, and I’ve created this GoFundMe with love and hope — hope that together, we can lift up my Aunt Lesley and Uncle Larry during a time when they need it most.

On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, our family’s world was turned upside down. Larry was rushed to the emergency room, where doctors discovered he had suffered a minor heart attack. During an emergency cardiac catheterization (E-cath) to assess and open his arteries, serious complications arose. His condition quickly declined, and Larry is now in critical condition on life support.

Doctors are working tirelessly to stabilize him for transfer to a specialized heart hospital in San Diego. Once there, he will begin a long and uncertain journey of advanced cardiac care. It is still to be determined whether Larry will require a heart transplant or a mechanical heart assist device — both complex and life-sustaining interventions.

In the meantime, this already difficult situation is being compounded by the weight of today’s challenging economy. The financial hardship is very real for this family of seven. Larry is a self-employed small business owner, and with him unable to work, the family has lost their primary source of income overnight. There is no life insurance, and Lesley is doing everything she can to keep things afloat while caring for five young children under the age of seven — all while trying to stay strong beside her husband.

Larry is not only a devoted husband and loving father, but also a proud grandfather to his two adult children’s little ones. He is the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back, always showing up for others with generosity and humor. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
