Help the Boyds Retain Their Ancestral Land
Donation protected
We are the heirs of the Allen Boyd Estate, located in Waynesboro, GA, Burke County. We have found ourselves in a dilemma as many other black families that have inherited heirs' property. "Heirs' Property" refers to inherited home or land ownership that lacks a designated owner, resulting in shared ownership among living descendants. This prevents intergenerational wealth accumulation. Heirs' property is most predominant among African American landholders, contributing to land loss from 16 million to 4.7 million acres over the last hundred years.
As a result of recent litigations and involvement with an extremely corrupt judicial system, our family has been placed in a position to be one of the families added to the millions of acres that have already been lost.
The judge in our case initially placed an order for us to pay the fair market value of $345,000 to secure our great grandfather's legacy. Once we agreed to the previous amount, the judge then rescinded that initial order, hired an appraiser, and reordered us to pay $745,000.
We are soliciting financial assistance from anyone who finds it in their heart to help us keep our land that has been in our family for over 90 years.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated.
